PlayScape is an exhibit at the Science Centre featuring 8 zones showcasing digital technologies powering Singapore’s Smart Nation journey. By using gamified interactive elements, this exhibition brings technological concepts to life.
Receive training and conduct a learning journey to help others fully appreciate our Smart Nation tech at PlayScape. Organise a trip for your own beneficiaries, juniors within the school or even another CCA as part of an exchange!
Open to: Secondary and JC Infocomm Media Clubs
Date: Term 3 to Term 4 (specific day to be proposed by school)
Time: Timeslot to be proposed by school
Venue: PlayScape exhibit at Science Centre Singapore (15 Science Centre Rd, Singapore 609081)
Capacity: Approximately 40 pax in total (volunteers and participants)
Registration deadline: End of Term 3
Additional info: The learning journey should preferably take place on Tuesdays - Fridays during the school term as admission to the Science Centre during those times is free. Train-the-trainer visit to PlayScape by the Smart Nation team will be arranged after registration.

FAQ
1) Will training be provided for the student volunteers?
The Smart Nation team will conduct an exclusive visit / train-the-trainer session to PlayScape for your student leaders who will in turn, plan the learning journey with the rest of the volunteers. There are write-ups, videos and interactive exhibits available and volunteers can decide how best to supplement the information available when they serve as guides.
2) When will the training be conducted?
The exclusive visit / train-the-trainer session will be arranged via email correspondence. The visit will take 45 minutes and the Smart Nation team can accommodate 30 persons at PlayScape.
3) Will the student volunteers be expected to find their own participants or beneficiaries?
Yes, the student volunteers should source for their own participants or beneficiaries. They can consider conducting the learning journey for their peers, juniors, another CCA group or a student care centre. The exhibition is suitable for everyone aged 10 and above. However, it is purely in English so it may be less suitable for seniors who are more conversant in other languages.
4) Are there any resources available?
There is a PlayScape pamphlet which contains a crossword puzzle as well as a map of the exhibit. Volunteers are encouraged to visit the exhibit themselves to take notes and plan for how they intend to guide participants.
5) Will meals be provided?
Meals will not be provided for student volunteers, participants or beneficiaries.
6) Will transportation be provided for student volunteers, participants or beneficiaries?
Transportation will not be provided for student volunteers, participants or beneficiaries.
7) What is the attire for student volunteers?
Student volunteers may wear their own school uniform or CCA attire.
8) Is PlayScape a ticketed attraction?
PlayScape is a free permanent exhibition within the Science Centre. Do note that admission to the Science Centre is free on Tuesdays – Fridays during the school term, excluding public holidays. Visitors should still book tickets to enter the Science Centre as a QR code is required for entry.
9) Are there specific timeslots for the learning journey to be conducted?
The Science Centre closes at 5pm so it is recommended that the latest the learning journey should commence is 4pm.
10) When is the deadline for registration?
Registration closes at the end of Term 3.
11) How many student volunteers are required to conduct the learning journey for others?
It is recommended that the Club sends a minimum of 10 student volunteers to guide participants around the 8 zones.
